Avenue Q

Well, as is my Thanksgiving Friday tradition, I spent part of today in NYC catching up with family friends in from Massachusetts. We went to go see Avenue Q. I found it cute, well done, and CERTAINLY not for kids. At one point in time I found myself within about a foot of one of the singing puppets. I almost kissed his nose. I'm still not sure why I didn't.

A few of the songs spoke to me, so much that I bought the CD. Just the titles are fun, for example "What do you do with a BA in English?" and "The internet is for porn." Of course, by buying the CD in the theater I spent about $6.50 more than if I had the patience to order it from and wait for it to show up. I never was any good with that patience thing. Ah well. Let's note, however, that my last order from Amazon was and continues to be a pain in the neck. I ordered two books, which shipped out quickly, and 4 CDs. Three CDs had said estimated ship time was 24 hours. The fourth said 4-6 days. After 10 days had passed, I emailed Amazon and asked what was up. I knew I had said I wanted to ship in as few shipments as possible so I could get the free shipping, but I didn't realize it would extend the time well past the estimated time of the individual items. Amazon gave me the one time courtesy of shipping the 3 CDs that were ready. I'm still waiting for the fourth which now has an estimated ship time of 1 to 2 months. Whatever.

At any rate, enough of this post. Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was happy, even if some people spent significantly more time cooking than intended. Note that I did not cook, although I did pick up ice cream.
