soft head shot

Up Too Late

Well, here I am, 1:45 in the stupid morning and I'm still awake. On the plus side, I was able to talk to a couple of friends in California who I haven't spoken to in a while. They are really very well matched.

It's actually been a pretty good week for contacts. In the last 3 days I was able to speak E*** in New Hampshire who I haven't been able to reach in WAY too long, and S*** and C****** in California. I am very lucky to have the friends I have, friends who put up with me and my quirks, and friends who love me. If only they lived closer. I seem to keep meeting cool people who live anywhere other than here. At least some are in "the" tri-state area, that is, New York-New Jersey-Connecticut.

Life is a bit crazy here, trying to figure out how to move furniture out of Grandma's apartment when moves are only allowed on weekdays and I don't have time off yet. Ah well, I guess I'll work something out.

As for why I'm awake, I'm not really sure. Some of it is that I napped this afternoon. I'm still catching up on sleep from last weekend. I had a really fun weekend last weekend, and met some really cool people, including one who I've been thinking about a lot. I also got to spend some quality time with N***, my best friend, who unfortunately lives in Massachusetts. I hope I'll be able to see him again before he goes back up.

As for the rest of the reason I'm awake, I've been cleaning. I want to invite someone up to see me, and I think it would be nice if my house was at least passable. Something about spending a couple of years in a depression, my house got to be a mess, and digging out is a lot harder than falling in.

As for now, I think I'm going to go either clean or sleep. I haven't decided which. Of course, I could just watch Groundhog Day on TV.

I sometimes wonder if anyone other than me reads this. I haven't gotten many comments, so I wonder. It would be nice to know I could use this as a way to talk to people I care about, or am learning about, rather than just spouting off for my own amusement. Well, we shall see.

Once again, time to close. Good night, Mrs. Calabash!
