power for my fridge, albeit too late for anything that wasn't water or fruit. I lost power Saturday between 8 and 9 AM, apparently. Personally, I was asleep until after 11 AM (I apparently needed sleep). I called Con Ed, who had no idea what I was talking about. Have I checked my circuit breakers? (Do I sound like a moron? I've been in multiple rooms. It's not all the breakers. I have no power.) Do I see trucks outside? (I'm barely able to focus, and my glasses are over on the night-table. Besides, I sleep with the shades closed.) Do my neighbors have power? (Look, I'm still in my damn pajamas, I'm in the dark, and I'm starting to get cold. I have no blinking power. This is your issue. Could we please fix it? I know you're up to your eyeballs getting power back to people who lost it during Wednesday's wind storm, and I know you have crews in from other states [I had two trucks from Alleghany Power and Light in West Virginia outside my house Friday evening, HOPELESSLY lost due to the fact that they were given a bad address for their next destination]. I also know that the battery backup on my alarm system will only last so long, and I want heat!)
I called Con Ed every hour or two. The longest I went was 4 hours while I was asleep at my adopted Mom's house (I adopted her). I fell asleep after midnight, and inexplicably woke up at 4:30 this morning for 2 hours. My power was on today from 11 something until noon, then back out. I finally got power around 6 something this evening. Now I'm doing a laundry so I have clean pants for work tomorrow. I did the laundry at Mom's house, but she has a cute 1 year old boxer who sheds. My clean clothes, fresh from the dryer, were covered with puppy hair. They're being re-dried now. I need sleep.
More updates whenever.
BTW - I got email from livejournal saying one of my friends (who shall remain nameless) had apparently replied to a post or comment of mine by simply using the subject line "Whoa." There appeared to be no other comment. Would this person please contact me and let me know to what this referred? I can't find it. Thanks! Also, if you think it might be you, maybe because you replied to one of my posts or comments in the last 3 days, please check. Curiosity killed the cat, and I'm starting to meow.
(Note: Spell check still found two errors in the above. One was livejournal.)
